CHRISTMAS 2018 AND OTHER EVENTS AT FITZWILLIAM

Our reputation for Christmas parties has grown over the years.  More companies are celebrating the festive season by hosting a lunch, dinner or party for their staff – to help boost morale and to toast the highlights and successes of their year in style.  Fitzwilliam provides an atmospheric setting, with all the trimmings, for splendid celebrations full of fun and good cheer.  Here are some of the comments received from our clients who held Christmas events at Fitzwilliam in December.

“I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you and the entire team at Fitzwilliam.

Taking our booking at such short notice and being such a joy to work with, you were patient, calm professional and an all- round superstar doing everything you could to make the event a success. I completely appreciate all of the planning, preparation, training and time that enable this to happen and I’m very appreciative of everyone’s hard work.

We have had excellent feedback from the teams who attended, with all saying that the food, ambience, service and setting were fantastic!

I am very grateful for all that you did and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you or Fitzwilliam in future.

I wish you all the best for your remaining events and hope you have a well-deserved festive break ?”

Nicola Carrisi, Project and Event Manager, AstraZeneca, Cambridge.

Arm-CE-Media & ML Groups Cambridge

“We (Arm-CE-Media & ML groups) had our Christmas lunch at Fitzwilliam College last December, where we gathered to celebrate the year behind us. 189 people turned up.  It was a super meal and a fantastic party in a wonderful atmosphere. Everyone had a great time, lot of fun – especially with the balloons – and loved the food and drinks very much. Some people even said it was the best Christmas lunch ever organised.” -  Stephane Forey, Media Processing Group, ARM Limited, Cambridge.

OTHER CHRISTMAS TESTIMONIALS

Just wanted to say thanks to you (and Milly if she’s still there) for helping to organise our Christmas party. Everyone had a wonderful time and all the team on the day were really very helpful, so please thank them too. “  - Annie Moreham, Events & Communications Lead, Sodexo, Cambridge.

“We had a lovely end of year meeting and the lunch was absolutely amazing. There was one lady in particular that was so very nice and friendly and made us feel very welcome (It’s a shame that I can’t remember her name!). Unfortunately, we didn’t take any photos as I think we were all caught up in the moment of enjoying such a wonderful event. So I would like to say a big thank you to everyone and wish you all a Happy New Year! ?  - Kelly Hamad, British American Tobacco, Cambridge.

“A note to say thank you to you and your team for an excellent party.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and every one of your team was excellent.” - Adam Berry, Prêt-a-Portrait.

“I just wanted to say thank you so much to you and everyone at Fitz for making Friday night such a success. We had lots of comments from the guests on how lovely the venue was and how much fun they had and we definitely couldn’t have done it without all your help!” – Freya Smith, Joint Event Organiser, Clinical Society, University of Cambridge."

Andrew Haldane Chief Economist Bank of EnglandThe annual Cambridge Public Policy Lecture with Andrew Haldane speaking on ‘Macroeconomic Policy Experiments’ took place in the Auditorium at Fitzwilliam College on Monday, 3 December. A special dinner followed, hosted by Professor Michael Kenny, Fitzwilliam Fellow and Chair of Public Policy at the University of Cambridge, and the inaugural Director of the Cambridge Institute of Public Policy.  Lucy Theobald, Communications Manager, Bennett Institute for Public Policy, gave the following account of the event:

“Our lecture with Andrew Haldane, Chief Economist at the Bank of England, was our lead event of 2018. The team at the Bennett Institute were delighted with how professionally it was run, with staff on hand throughout to help and ensure that every detail was attended to. The dinner, celebrating both the MPhil in Public Policy students and our speaker, was a very special occasion, with not one element we would have changed. Our thanks to the Fitzwilliam conference team and to the Kitchen staff for the event management.”
