At Fitzwilliam College we’ve achieved the silver standard award for Green Meetings, issued by Green Tourism

The Green Meetings Criteria and Goals are based on a solid framework with comprehensive standards that align with the UN's globally recognized sustainability goals. By earning this award, Fitzwilliam College has shown its dedication to environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices. 

As part of the process, a detailed and thorough account of the practices within our departments was required. This involved drawing on staff members’ expertise regarding their respective areas and coordinating with multiple teams, including Gardening, Catering, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.

The assessment required extensive evidence of the ways in which the college participates in sustainable practices, such as photos, policies, invoices and certificates and was assessed by Green Tourism’s team of expert sustainability practitioners, trained to Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment standards. After submission, we were provided with a customized report on our current sustainability performance, highlighting areas for potential improvement.
